Poland Memorial Defiled
Workers clean a memorial plaque to the late President Lech Kaczynski and 95 others killed earlier this year in a plane crash after a man defiled it with feces in Warsaw, Poland, on Tuesday Aug. 17, 2010. The man's motive was unclear but the defilement comes amid a bitter dispute in Poland over how to commemorate the victims. The plaque was unveiled last week in hopes of appeasing a group of Kaczynski supporters preventing the removal of a tall wooden cross in front of the presidential palace. They want the cross to stay until a fitting memorial is built to the victims and are not satisfied with the plaque. (AP Photo/Czarek Sokolowski)
